Finding My Stride

  Hello, friends! Spring has sprung and vaccines are being administered; it's an uplifting time of year! Spring also means it's time again for the CFF Great Strides walk. The theme of this year's walk is "Find your stride" and I must admit, in 2020 I definitely lost my stride. With so much going on with the pandemic and in my personal life, I did not participate in the 2020 virtual walk or fundraising.  I know I am not alone, that many spent the majority of 2020 in survival mode and most non-profits took a financial hit. I saw some of the residual effects of this first-hand through some of my CFF committee work. Several projects that would help the community were put on hold and/or scaled back due to budget cutbacks.    Gratefully, I am in a much better place this year and have rediscovered my stride and renewed my commitment to get back in the game. New Year ll New Me

Greeting, dear friends! Oh, how I've missed you. I have not only missed connecting with you, but I've also missed writing so much. Let's rip off the bandaid and get down to business, shall we?  2020 was a year most of us would like to forget. There was certainly no shortage of pain and sadness. Yet there were also silver linings to be had. For me, there was definitely all of the above. Early on in the pandemic, I decided to end my marriage and move Myles and me out of our home. It was not a decision I took lightly by any stretch of the .imagination. It was scary. It was sad. It was necessary. Every fiber of my being knew that it was the best decision for all involved and I was right.  The rest of the year was one of the most challenging of my life. I moved twice--alone because of the pandemic. The divorce (predictably) became extremely contentious and stressful; many of my friendships were strained as a result.
